Are drug testing facilities covered under HIPAA?
NO. The Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) only applies to "Covered Entities" who handle "Private Health Information"(PHI).
Drug Testing facilities and their contracted "service agents" (MRO) are not considered "covered entities", nor do they diagnosis or treat any type of medical disorders dealing with "Private Health Information".
