FORENSIC Drug Testing Services, Inc. is defined within Title 49 CFR Part 40.3 as a Consortium/Third Party Administrator (C/TPA). A C/TPA is service agent that provides or coordinates the provision of a variety of drug and alcohol testing services to employers. C/TPAs typically perform administrative tasks concerning the operation of the employers' drug and alcohol testing program. This term includes, but is not limited to, groups of employers who join together to administer, as a single entity, the DOT drug and alcohol testing program for its members.

We conduct a full inspection of the sample provided to ensure proper volume, temperature, coloration and consistency are within range.

Acceptable samples are split into two separate vials, sealed with barcoded tamper evident tape, in the Donor's presence.

Donor initials the barcoded seals to verify the sample ID from each bottle, matches the CCF.  The samples & the CCF are packaged.

Completed collections are kept in secured storage, until picked up by a licensed express carrier, enroute to our DHHS/SAMHSA certified lab.

All samples accessioned at our labs are checked and scanned to ensure the CCF & Barcodes match.

Accessioners check for proper volume, color, consistency, leakage and collector/shipping errors.

All samples are screened for adulterants and the creatine & specific gravity are confirmed.

E.M.I.T. Screening

All samples are then issued an internal accessioning number and placed into the EMIT screening sequence for initial testing.

All Non-Negative EMIT samples are automatically re-tested via LC/MS/MS to specifically ID the drug found & quantify it.

M.R.O. Process

Once the lab EMIT screens and LC/MS/MS confirms the Donor's sample, the results are forwarded to the MRO for review w/Donor.

The Medical Review Officer process is the Donor's one and only chance to speak with a Medical Doctor about the lab's findings.
